| The prospect of dying is not a pleasant subject so the average person
tries to avoid any thoughts about it. But these attempts are largely
futile. In fact, from time out of mind human beings
have been drawn mysteriously to the concept of death and in the process
of dying though almost no one welcomes the idea of satisfying this curiosity
through "first hand experience."
On the other hand today people are reticent about being involved in the selection of burial methods for themselves or for others. Some people plan their own funerals but these arrangements are generally left for someone else to arrange. Historically, when a person died they would be buried in a cemetery. If a family pet died, like a dog or a cat, they would be simply discarded or buried in the ground. But things are different these days. Cremation has gained in popularity for people as well as for pets. |

| We believe that it is peoples desire to preserve memories of of family life, including the memory of pets within the family, that has caused the expanded interest in cremating pets and in saving their ashes. |
